Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)
KBR is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join our team supporting the Naval Aviation Systems Command (NAVAIR) Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM) program. The successful candidate will provide support in capturing and mapping the requirements of legacy Naval Aviation Logistics IT systems into the enterprise PLM solution and will augment the team with the establishment and management of digital representations of technical baselines with a focus on lifecycle activities that impact traditional sustainment metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Guides the analysis and syntheses of Requirements, Interfaces, Behavior, Structure and Parametrics (RIBS-P) across the system’s baselines, utilizing MBSE/SysML and various modeling and simulation tools.
- Provides support in establishing the foundation of a Digital Engineering (DE) environment across various tools and classification levels in support of program priorities and provides support in implementing the necessary methods, processes, tools, training, and network data transfers to establish an efficient, synchronized, and cohesive digital thread across government and industry.
- Performs the following using MBSE tools/methods: analysis/ synthesis/ definition and management of sustainment requirements, lifecycle logistics functional analysis, maintenance analysis, system design and trade study analysis specifically affecting reliability and maintainability, overall model of model’s validation, and automated documentation generation.
- Provides support in establishing a technical foundation to create on-ramps to rapidly resolve obsolescence, streamline configuration management, develop maintenance and training systems and plans, and establish integrated sustainment roadmaps for analysis, affordability, development, and integration of advanced capabilities in support of program priorities.
- Guides the development of the necessary model views and coordinate the definition, review, and approval of system design feature attributes across the technical team.
- Provides support to the engineering team with model-based evaluations of system designs as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university. Experience cannot be substituted for education.
- Candidate must have at least five (5) years of MBSE/digital engineering experience.
- Must be a US citizen with a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Logistics experience supporting DoD military platforms/systems. Experience with logistics databases and logistics manuals.
- Proficient in SysML, MagicDraw/Cameo, and MATLAB.
- Strong experience with establishing and architecting relationships across the following types of models: analytical, parametric, virtualized hardware, simulations/emulations, and constructive.
- Experience with IBM Rhapsody, UML, C++, SQL/Access, and Java.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained, and complex security environment.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Very strong knowledge in systems engineering.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation: $114,000-132,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
