System Administrator/Tester

KBR is seeking an experienced System Administrator/Tester to join our team in Lexington Park, MD supporting NAVAIR & PMA-231.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, etc. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to appropriate team members.
- Provides support for hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages Linux and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Acts as a liaison between IT development groups and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of current systems.
- Evaluates new applications, system requirements, developments in field of expertise, and evolving business needs to recommend appropriate solutions and alternatives. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard software testing concepts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, Business, or Mathematics. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- Experience: 1-2 years relevant professional experience as system administrator and tester
- Clearance Requirement: US Citizen Active Secret clearance and SSBI
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Automated test experience
- Experience supporting PMA-231
- Experience supporting the DoD/DoN/NAVAIR
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation: $75,000-95,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
