What does a successful Bank Sponsorship Director do?

What you will do:
- Identify opportunities with Product and other cross-functional teams to fulfill business objectives through the growth of sponsor bank partners.
- Drive end-to-end onboarding of new sponsor banks, including negotiating sponsor agreements and related legal documents, converting or installing BINs, and engaging with related technical setup activities until go-live.
- Build and establish a cohesive framework by partnering with applicable Fiserv business units to ensure the success of the program. Drive efficiency around existing and new programs/processes.
- Help coordinate incoming sponsor bank audits by aligning with applicable stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing updates on the status of relationships and key activities to leadership.
- Facilitate quarterly reviews and annual oversight audits with sponsor banks.
- Maintain awareness of key changes to card organization rules that could impact sponsor bank relationships, working closely with the Payments Acceptance team.
- Prepare external and internal presentations as required.
What you will need to have:
- 8+ years of relationship management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
What would be great to have:
- 5+ years working within the merchant services industry and sponsor banks.
- Experience in card payment processing, creation and migration of BINs at banks and processors.
- Experience in knowledge of non-card payments (e.g., ACH, wires, RTP, etc.), as well as a general understanding of risk and compliance in relation to merchant underwriting, chargebacks, fraud, and high-risk industries, is highly desirable.
