Overview
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient environment. This role involves routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and responding to repair requests across various facility systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
Pay: $24.00-$27.00/hour DOE
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing windows, doors, walls, and other structural elements.
- Address plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, and fixture replacements.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, outlets, and lighting systems.
- Maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control.
- Apply preventive measures to reduce future maintenance issues (e.g., sealing roofs).
- Identify and fix safety hazards to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Paint and refurbish surfaces as needed.
- Schedule and coordinate major repairs with external contractors or building occupants.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building maintenance or a related field.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, building maintenance) are a plus.

- May involve working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
- Requires physical activity such as climbing, lifting, and kneeling.
- Occasional exposure to hazardous materials or equipment.
