Note: This position is open exclusively to candidates currently enrolled in the Hiring Our Heroes Fellows Program. Applications from individuals not participating in the program will not be considered.
Fellowship will focus on the hard and soft skill required to successfully deliver mission software based solutions to defense sector customers. The fellow will be embedded into an existing project with an internal Leidos customer. This project will allow the fellow to develop intra-team, cross-team and customer facing collaboration skills in the building of an AI enabled battle management decision aid for integrated air and missile defense.
This includes:
- Agile Scrum Development - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to iteratively deliver high-quality solutions; this includes knowledge of Scrum roles, time-boxes, ceremonies, and artifacts.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) - Leveraging advanced methodologies to develop intelligent systems that analyze data, learn from patterns, predict outcomes, and make informed decisions autonomously.
- Atlassian JIRA - Using JIRA project management software to plan, track, and manage tasks using agile methodologies; this includes navigating the user interface, applying custom settings, and integrating with other programs.
- Cloud Computing - Managing processing services delivered over the internet; this includes understanding cloud architecture, security controls, and risk.
- Machine Learning - Programming and using artificial intelligence models to conduct predictive statistical analyses.
- Software Design - Conceptualizing and developing plans for implementing software solutions.
- Systems Integration - Connecting and integrating disparate software, hardware, or other systems into a single unified system.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of relevant experience related to US military C2 or military fires
- Must currently possess an active Secret clearance
- Ability to review requirements, comprehend need, and solution capabilities that satisfy customer requirements.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative, forward thinking, and innovation-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile and/or DevSecOps concepts and best practices.
- Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence with preference for C2 decision aids.
- Hand-on experience with Atlassian and Git products (Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, etc.).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Systems Engineering
