This Accounting/Finance Fellowship will assist our Accounting/Finance team with audit preparation, account reconciliations, accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR) processes, and vendor management. You’ll also gain valuable exposure to government contracting, cost accounting standards, and internal control procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Support end-of-year audit activities, including document collection, sample preparation, and variance analysis
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations and general ledger review
- Process accounts payable invoices, verify coding, and ensure timely vendor payments
- Help manage accounts receivable, billing, and collections tracking
- Maintain vendor records, including new vendor setup and compliance documentation
- Review and organize financial data for reporting and compliance purposes
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency within accounting operations
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, and project management teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment with DoD financial policies

Desired Experience
- General office or administrative experience (or military equivalent)
- Comfort using a computer and learning new software tools
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, simple data entry) — we will train you on everything else
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to double-check your work
- Good communication skills and openness to asking questions
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple small tasks
- A desire to learn how corporate finance and accounting functions operate within a DoD-focused organization
- Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude in a team environment
