Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Battery Production Engineering department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer to work in the planning team.
This position's main responsibility is advanced planning for production preparation and new model launch of EV battery manufacturing equipment.
This position will be located at Toyota’s Production Engineering Manufacturing Center (PEMC) in Georgetown, Kentucky, and report to an Engineering Manager in Battery Manufacturing Engineering - Planning.
What you’ll be doing
Developing process plans for battery production lines within the Battery Manufacturing Engineering department with direct support from Manager
Leading the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, installation, pre-productions trials and launch of battery production lines
Creating and maintaining detailed schedule and budget for assigned area
Participate in cross functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals
Participate in a mentor program to grow as an engineer and learn from others within the department
Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure all aspects of the project are planned and executed in a safe and timely manner. Engage Production, Quality and Maintenance teams to get their perspective on relevant issues and develop one voice with all stakeholders
Develop reflections document from events that caused delays in project, safety hazards etc. and share with cross functional teams to learn and improve collectively as a team
Incorporate reflections from prior projects phases into the future project planning cycles
Participate in benchmarking activities both within Toyota and related industries
What you bring
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field or 5+ years of equivalent manufacturing experience
Experience in production preparation of manufacturing and experience in execution of capital projects, preferably from initial planning to start of production
AutoCAD experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 2D drawings
Experience in production preparation of manufacturing for capital projects, including schedule creation and KPI tracking from initial planning to start of production
Experience in creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment, such as standardized work, job safety analysis or similar
Budget management experience for capital projects greater than $250K
Ability to work weekends, holidays and shutdown periods, including business travel, both domestic and international, up to 25%
Added bonus if you have
Master's degree or equivalent
Experience with laser welding
Experience and/or exposure to battery manufacturing process
Equipment installation and validation experience
Experience with chemical processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment
