Who we are looking for
Toyota’s Body Weld PE Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Body-Seibi Technician
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform Digital Engineering studies offline utilizing 3D simulation software (develop virtual robot programs and confirm process feasibility) in support of New Model implementation to North America Manufacturing Centers. This role will also include programming robots at manufacturing or vendor facilities, supporting equipment preparation, other production related studies, development of Weld Schedules and other supporting documentation, and department efficiency/improvement initiatives.
Reporting to the DE Project Manager, the person in this role will support the Body PE department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Compliance, while continuously improving our processes.
What you will be doing
Conduct DE studies to produce virtual robot programs and confirm new model process feasibility.
Confirm Digital Factory Condition for accuracy.
Create Weld Schedule Instruction Sheets and provide other supplemental documents to customers.
Conduct New Model process planning (DE) studies.
Support Machine Seibi in new model preparation activities, including programming robots at vendor locations or manufacturing centers.
Prepare and confirm new or modified Body Weld equipment at the vendors or manufacturing centers.
Develop equipment countermeasures during planning/set-up/trial phases.
Up to 30% travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan, Canada, Mexico.
Up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Position will be located at PEMC.
What you bring
Associate technical degree (or higher), or 2 years of equivalent technical work experience in BodyWeld Shop.
Delmia (Carott3) experience with at least 6 months of experience in performing 3D robot simulation studies for offline programming.
Ability to travel up to 30% at times (including international travel).
Ability to work up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Added bonus if you have
B.S. in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial/Electrical Engineering.
CAROTT/DE TEAM SEIBI experience to include previous rotations with the team.
Robotic programming of Kawasaki and Nachi industrial robots using teach pendants on production floor.
Visual Components (BisFactory) experience.
