Position Overview
As an In-Home Direct Support Professional, you will provide individualized support to clients in a home setting while encouraging independence, promoting personal development, and assisting with daily living activities.
The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and passionate about helping others achieve their goals and maintain the highest possible quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support in the client's home and community
- Assist with activities of daily living, including grooming, dressing, hygiene, and meal preparation
- Support clients in achieving personal goals and increasing independence
- Assist with community outings, appointments, and recreational activities
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with medication reminders and daily routines as directed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment
- Monitor and document client progress and observations
- Communicate effectively with family members, supervisors, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Follow individualized support plans and company policies
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Caregiver, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Residential Counselor, or Behavioral Health Technician preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred
- Ability to work independently and professionally in a home setting
- Successful completion of required background checks, onboarding, and training requirements
