The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the execution and management for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Full Line Food Service Distribution for Southwest Asian and Eastern Africa (SWAEA) program. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving program performance to meet program goals and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Planning and Execution.
- Serve as the principal point of contact to the DLA KO, PMO, CORs, and COTRs.
- Develop and implement program strategies, objectives, and plans to ensure successful execution of the food distribution program.
- Manage the program lifecycle from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with DLA requirements and program goals.
- Collaborate with various teams, including procurement, logistics, quality control, and customer service, to ensure effective communication and coordination of program activities.
- Facilitate regular meetings and updates with stakeholders to monitor progress and address any issues.
- Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet program objectives.
- Monitor expenditures and financial performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure that the program complies with all applicable regulations, standards, and contractual obligations.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on program performance.
- Ensure success in meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on program status, performance metrics, and areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all program-related inquiries and communications.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovations within the program to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead initiatives aimed at optimizing program performance and customer satisfaction.
- Be available to travel throughout AOR as needed / required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in program or project management in the food service or logistics industry.
- Experience in government contracting and familiarity with DLA policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of program management methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization..
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active PMP Certification
- Secret Clearance
- Knowledge of food service distribution operations and industry standards.
