Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.
Job Summary
As a Mechanic on LOGCAP, you will repair and maintain a variety of equipment which may include motor vehicles or heavy equipment. Duties include installing of new or reconditioned parts, perform inspections, disassembling engines and mechanical units to inspect parts and operating defects, promoting safety awareness and compile with all applicable safety procedures and regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Skilled auto electrician with over 5 years of experience working with various types of vehicles.
- Ability to identify and repair problems with automotive electrical equipment.
- Capable of detecting signs of potential problems and taking the right steps to avert them.
- Knowledge of installation and operation of complex equipment, including anti-theft systems, lighting and more.
- Maintains, inspects, troubleshoots, replaces, repairs, adjusts, performs preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS), diesel power plants, cooling systems, vehicle starting, charging systems, vehicle electrical systems, assemblies , cross drive transmission assemblies, auxiliary drive assemblies, propeller shaft assemblies, vehicle suspension systems, vehicle wheel hub assemblies, mechanical and hydraulic steering systems, controlled differential steering systems, vehicle hydraulic assemblies, fire extinguisher and suppression systems.
- Performs full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment (including track vehicles) and vehicles powered by internal combustion engines.
- Replaces and adjusts wheel bearing, idler arms, idler bearings, and oil seals. Replaces suspension arms, torsion bars, stabilizer bars, etc.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Operates and inspects vehicles, machines, or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as test equipment and calibration devices.
- Dismantles and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist and hand tools.
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometer and gauges.
- Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Overhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Insures compliance with applicable Technical Bulletin (TB’s), Technical Manuals (TM), Safety of Use Messages (SOUM) and Work Instructions.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Must have strong inter-active personal skills.
- Must possess a valid civilian driver’s license.
- Minimum of one-year mechanical experience
- Must be capable of lifting 30-50 pounds
- Must be self-starter and be able to work with little to no supervision
- Must be accurate and well organized.
- Above average knowledge of maintenance shop operation Above average oral and written communication skills
- Must be Kosovo citizen.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- English language would be an advantage.
