Program Summary
KBR is seeking a Billing Specialist to join the Shared Services Accounts Receivable (AR) Department within the Readiness and Sustainment (R&S) Business Unit. This unit supports a wide range of government and commercial customers, including the Department of Defense, Department of State, and various other commercial entities. Our team partners with project control analysts to complete invoicing for all contract types (Fixed Price, Time & Material, Cost Plus) to ensure smooth and efficient base operations globally.
Job Summary
The Billing Specialist will be responsible for preparing, generating, and submitting cost reimbursable, time and material, and firm fixed-price invoices. This role involves using multiple customer systems for electronic submissions and coordinating with various departments to meet invoicing deadlines. The specialist will provide support for billing activities, data entry, and customer inquiries while adhering to standard operating procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and generate invoices across different contract types (Fixed Price, Time & Material, Cost Plus).
- Submit invoices electronically using customer systems.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external customers, including government pay offices, to ensure timely and accurate billing.
- Solve problems of varying complexity by applying established policies, practices, and procedures.
- Provide general administrative support, including data entry, reporting, and basic analysis.
- Assist the Accounts Receivable team with additional tasks as needed.
- Adapt to changes in responsibilities as company needs evolve.
- Maintain effective oral and written communication with stakeholders.
- Be willing to work overtime as necessary to meet department deadlines.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in government contracting billing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be adaptable and willing to take on new responsibilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, specifically within the Billing Module.
- Familiarity with SAP Billing Module (helpful but not required, willingness to learn is expected).
- Previous experience in Federal Government Contracting billing processes.
