Role OverviewAs a Senior Technician, you will fabricate, assemble, test, and validate missile subsystems and full assemblies. Your work will use detailed engineering documentation, specialized test equipment, and robust quality standards to ensure every unit is built to exacting specifications. This position is ideal for a skilled mechanical or electrical assembler who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-focused production environment and enjoys solving technical challenges.
Key Duties & Responsibilities• Fabricate, assemble, and test complex assemblies and subsystems used in missile systems.
• Perform incoming part inventory, inspection, and verification against technical documentation.
• Measure and validate part dimensions and clearances using precision instruments.
• Align, fit, and assemble components utilizing hand tools, fixtures, and standardized procedures.
• Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate part, assembly, and system performance in simulated conditions.
• Support all phases of missile build-up: assembly, subsystem testing, environmental testing, and pack-and-ship operations.
• Partner with engineers and cross-functional team members to troubleshoot issues and propose solutions.
• Participate in Continuous Process Improvement activities.
• Provide clear work direction and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Work Environment• Hands-on production environment with direct interaction with assemblies and test equipment.
• Work involves precision, safety focus, and adherence to documented procedures.
• Collaborative atmosphere with engineers, technicians, and program teams.

Basic Qualifications:Candidates must meet all
requirements• Ability to perform both mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, wiring lists, engineering drawings, schematics, sketches, and related documentation.
• Experience working in manufacturing or production operations.
• Ability to work onsite on either day or night shift in Courtland, AL.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Successful completion of AIDT (Alabama Industrial Development Training) coursework.

• Adhesive and bonding material application.
• Cable harness fabrication and repair.
• Soldering skills (electrical/electronic).
• Crane operations or experience with lifting/handling equipment.
• Knowledge of missile ground processing and mission-prep operations.
• Use of general test equipment and environmental test systems.
• Proficiency with standard hand tools.
• Experience with measurement instruments such as multimeters, torque wrenches, and scales.
• Ordnance handling knowledge.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
