The Demand Planning, Forecasting, and Inventory Replenishment Manager will be responsible for leading the demand planning and inventory replenishment processes for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Full Line Food Service Distribution for Southwest Asian and Eastern Africa (SWAEA) program. This role involves analyzing market trends, historical actual demand, forecasting future demand, and ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet customer needs while minimizing waste and costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement demand planning processes to accurately forecast product demand based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights.
- Monitor inventory levels across all distribution channels, ensuring adequate stock to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory.
- Establish inventory replenishment strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Perform predictive analytics, demand planning and forecasting analysis driven by both historical customer demand and seasonality supply chain
- Utilize forecasting software and tools to generate accurate demand forecasts and inventory reports.
- Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient order fulfillment based on demand forecasts.
- Coordinate with procurement to align inventory replenishment plans with supplier lead times and production schedules.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in demand planning and inventory replenishment to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices and technologies to streamline forecasting and inventory management processes.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, forecasting accuracy, and inventory turnover.
- Prepare and present regular reports to management on demand trends, inventory performance, and recommendations for adjustments.
- Provide training and support to staff on demand planning and inventory management best practices and tools.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the demand planning team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management in the food service or logistics industry.
- Experience in DLA planning and forecasting
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in forecasting methodologies and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in demand planning software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification in demand planning or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM) is a plus.
- Knowledge of food service industry trends and dynamics.
